Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar
New Delhi: While the date of voting for the Maharashtra Assembly elections is now very near, a hearing was held in the Supreme Court today on the party symbol dispute in the state’s biggest political party NCP. During the hearing, the top court directed the Ajit Pawar faction not to use pictures and videos of Sharad Pawar in the election campaign. The bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan told Ajit Pawar’s lawyer that you should not use the video of Sharad Pawar and create your own separate political identity. Now the Supreme Court will hear this matter again next Tuesday.
Why is Sharad Pawar’s name being taken again and again?
During today’s hearing, Justice Surya Kant asked Ajit Pawar faction that even though the video is old, why is Sharad Pawar’s name being taken again and again? On this, Ajit Pawar’s lawyer said that this is an old Facebook page. How could I check this? On this, the top court said that you should ensure compliance for both old and new videos. Now you are trying to establish yourself as a separate party because you have ideological differences with Sharad Pawar.
Do not use Sharad Pawar’s video
The Supreme Court said that we will try to convince both the parties that you should concentrate on your elections. The people of this country are very intelligent and know how to vote. People of the country can identify who is Sharad Pawar and who is Ajit Pawar. You people should follow the court order honestly and respect it. We don’t know whether videos have an impact or not, and if so, how much? The court told Ajit Pawar’s lawyer to create his own political identity and not use Sharad Pawar’s video.
We followed the court order: Ajit faction
Actually, the top court was hearing the petition of Sharad Pawar faction in which they had sought to stop their nephew (Ajit Pawar) from using the clock symbol to represent their party in this election. After the complaint by Sharad Pawar group, the Supreme Court asked the lawyer of Ajit Pawar group whether they are following the instructions of the Supreme Court or not? The lawyer of Ajit Pawar group said that we have followed the order of the court. Advertisements with disclaimers have also been published in newspapers. Ajit Pawar’s lawyer told the court that Sharad Pawar’s group saying that the order is not being followed is an attempt to mislead the voters.
This is an attempt to show that the family is one and votes should be sought on the same name: Singhvi
Sharad Pawar’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi alleged that Ajit’s faction wants to delay the matter till November 20 (voting date). On this, Justice Surya Kant asked, do you think that the voters of Maharashtra are not aware of the division among the parties? Sharad Pawar group’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that if we look at this matter differently, their thinking is that the Pawar family is one and votes should be sought in the same name. You can’t do that. The Supreme Court asked on how many seats are you contesting face to face? On this, Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that both the parties are facing each other on 36 seats and this matters the most? On this answer of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the Supreme Court asked that how will the voters get confused when they are facing each other. ? The lawyer of Sharad Pawar group said that in the disclaimer being given, both are indirectly being described as one.
