Woman found alive after 25 years

A woman who went missing from Karnataka 25 years ago has been found in Himachal. Nearly two decades ago, she was separated from her family and the family even cremated her, considering her dead. Now that woman has been found in the market. Due to the initiative of the district administration officials, the woman was able to meet her estranged family members. She is a resident of village Danayakanakere in Vijaynagar district of Karnataka and had gone missing about 25 years ago. Despite extensive searching, no trace of him could be found, so the family members assumed him to be dead.

The family members had performed the last rites.

The family members considered Sakamma dead 25 years ago and performed her last rites. After Sakamma went missing from Karnataka, a mutilated body of a woman was found in an accident, which the family members assumed to be Sakamma and cremated it. A garland was also placed on Sakamma’s picture at home, which the family has now removed.

Sakamma’s story will make you cry

SDM Smritika Negi told that Sakamma, whom the family members thought was dead, is now alive and there is no limit to the happiness of the family members after knowing this. Sakamma’s mental condition is not good but she remembers only the things of 25 years ago and she says in Kannada language that she has small children. But Sakamma does not know that the same small children have now married and become parents. Sakamma had four children, out of which three are still alive, two sons and one daughter.

Sakamma’s story

Sakamma kept wandering in many ashrams

Not much information has been received about when and how she reached Himachal. In the year 2018, Sakamma was found abandoned in Himachal, after which she stayed in many ashrams. Presently Sakamma was living in old age home Bhangarotu. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mandi Rohit Rathore inspected the old age home Bhangrotu recently. He talked to Sakamma, but she did not know Hindi, due to which the exact details of her family could not be ascertained.

This is how it was revealed

To talk in Kannada language, Rohit Rathore got the woman’s IAS officer Netra Maitti, posted as SDM Palampur, serving in Kangra district, resident of Karnataka, talking on her phone and gathered information about her house. Then he sent IPS probationary officer Ravi Nandan, a resident of Karnataka working in Mandi district, to an old age home and got him to talk to the woman more and after that a video of the woman was made and shared with the Karnataka government.

Apoorva Devgan said that with the help of the state government, officials and Karnataka government, the family members of this woman have been found. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, the family had given up hope of finding Sakamma. His children and grandchildren were believing that maybe he is no more in this world.
