Two days curfew in Madurai
A day before the protest of Hindu Munnani against the demand of some Muslim groups to allow animal sacrifice at the Alexander Dargah located on Thirupurankundram hill, Madurai District Administration has given Section 163 (Section 144 of CRPC) of the Indian Civil Protection (BNSS) Has implemented. Protests and public protests have been banned under this section and action will be taken against those who violate the order.
Prohibition has been imposed for two days
The Madurai district administration has imposed prohibition for two days in Thiruparnakundram and other parts of the district after the demonstration was announced on February 4. District Magistrate MS Sangeeta has said that prohibition has been imposed for two days from 6 am to 12 pm on February 3, February 3. The ‘Hindu Munnani’ i.e. Hindu Morcha has planned to perform a large scale against a section of people eating non -vegetarian food in Thiruparnakundram.

Thiruparnakundram Hill is one of the six residences of Lord Muruga in Tamil Nadu and according to the decision of the Privy Council, it comes under the temple of Lord Subrahmanya Swami. Hindus believe that not a single drop of blood should fall on the hill. The case took another turn after the visit of Nawas Kani of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) MP from Ramanathapuram. He said that the dargah is Waqf property and he also posted pictures of a group of people eating non -vegetarian food on the hill. He said that according to the police commissioner, there is no restriction on the consumption of ripe non -vegetarian food.
