New Delhi. There is only a tiny difference between confidence and arrogance. If one slips even a little, confidence turns into arrogance, and no one has ever had ego, this is what happened to Congress. After spreading all kinds of propaganda in the Lok Sabha elections, the situation of the Congress was no better than before. All the Congressmen and especially Rahul Gandhi got arrogant. Started giving knowledge on everything. In any case, decorum of language cannot be expected from the present leaders of Congress. The election results of Haryana and Kashmir have shown Congress its position.
Congress leaders were elated after seeing the exit polls of Haryana. The game of ‘Who will become Chief Minister’ had already started being played among the Congress leaders. A tug of war had started between Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Shailja Kumari in making all kinds of efforts to get the high command i.e. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in their favor, when the results came, their wishes were dashed. Congress workers, who had gathered at the Congress headquarters since morning with drums and cards, started leaving from there by 12 noon. Congress, which claimed to form the government with full majority in Haryana, was reduced to just 37 seats in Haryana. Congress’s dreams of forming the government were dashed by claiming anti-incumbency by putting the ten years of BJP rule and its policies in the dock.
Same thing happened in Jammu and Kashmir. Assembly elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years, after 2014. Congress contested the elections in alliance with Jammu Kashmir National Conference ‘JKNC’. Yet it could win only six seats in total. In which there are five seats in the valley and only one seat in Jammu region. Congress had contested elections on 32 seats in Jammu and Kashmir, while JKNC had fielded its candidates on 51 seats. JKNC managed to win 42 seats. Only one out of 29 Congress candidates won in Jammu region, which was Congress’s worst performance till date. Many prominent leaders of Congress had to face defeat in the elections. Experts also say that if Congress had not formed an alliance with JKNC, Congress could have been wiped out from Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress resting on support, only its friends are giving advice
What is the current situation of Congress is not hidden from anyone. In Haryana, despite all the claims, Congress could not form the government, while in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress contested the elections in alliance with Jammu Kashmir National Conference. After the results came, he clearly told Omar Abdullah, who was going to become the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, that if we had not fought the elections with Congress, our seats would have been more. He then advised the Congress to sit and calculate these results and make reforms before the elections in Maharashtra-Jharkhand.
At the same time, Shiv Sena (UBT) has also taken a dig at Congress in its mouthpiece Saamana. It says, “Congress needs to learn from the results of Haryana.” Aam Aadmi Party has also decided to contest the upcoming assembly elections alone, party leader Manish Sisodia has said that BJP could have been defeated in Haryana but Congress’s strategy and its unity were lacking. Congress has an alliance with SP in Uttar Pradesh, SP also released the list of 7 candidates for the by-elections to be held on 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh without talking to Congress. This is also an insult to the second largest party of the country.
People rejected Congress
After winning a small number of seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the arrogance of Congress leaders was clearly visible. Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi had even called Hindus violent in Parliament. Rahul Gandhi had even said that this time he will defeat BJP in Gujarat also. This is the situation when Congress has not been able to come to Gujarat for the last 24 years. The ambition of senior Haryana Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and the ongoing tussle for the post of Chief Minister was also a major reason for the Congress’s defeat in Haryana. Political experts say that Bhupendra Singh Hooda did not allow any other Congress leader to flourish in Haryana. Congress, relying on Jat and Dalit votes, did not feel that Congress would be defeated in Haryana, but after the formation of Haryana, BJP has created history by forming the government for the third time in the history of 57 years.
Congress graph is continuously falling
Ever since the BJP government was formed at the Centre, the graph of Congress has been continuously falling. In the last 15 years, Congress has not been able to form its government again in any state. For the third time, Congress has to sit in the opposition in the Lok Sabha. If this situation continues then Congress, despite being the oldest party in the country, will go into the background. Congress, which once controlled all the regional parties as per its wish, is now contesting the elections relying on them. Congress needs to introspect on its defeat.
