New Delhi. In Delhi, members of Mohalla Improvement and Security Committee, Maujpur, in collaboration with Delhi Police, Education Department and Delhi Commission for Women, organized a program for the upliftment and safety of the locality at Jain Dharamshala, Maujpur on 17th November. Tips on cyber security, social vigilance, career counseling and parental guidance were also given. Virendra Punj, Assistant Commissioner, Delhi Police Crime Branch, was the chief guest at the event. In the program, experts from Delhi Police, Education Department Delhi and Delhi Commission for Women introduced about 80 participants from their experiences on the topics of cyber security, social vigilance, career counseling and parental guidance.
In the program, Inspector Khemendra Singh (Vigilance Department, Delhi Police) in very simple words compared the criminal activities with the Sita Haran episode of Ramayana. He told that criminals use our greed and attachment as their weapon and cause harm to our money or body. To avoid the tricks of criminals, we should be cautious of advertisements or messages that give us impractical temptations. Inspector Khemendra Singh and staff of Cyber Cell, North-East District, Delhi Police explained to the participants in detail the meaning of cyber crime, activities of cyber criminals and measures to avoid cyber crimes.
Meaning of the word POLICE explained-
In the context of cyber crimes, six words used in the word police were defined differently.
P – Strong password
O – Limiting your online activities, not posting unnecessary photos etc.
L – Never click on apk links sent by unknown people.
I- Using the Internet wisely
C- Protection from cyber thugs
E- In case of emergency, filing complaint on Cyber Cell website or on 1930 helpline.
Chief Guest, Virendra Punj (Assistant Commissioner, Crime Branch, Delhi Police) told the participants about Vision Plan Time Management Practice and Self Evaluation elements helpful in achieving success in life and how the investment of the next 5 years will give good results. . He told that in life the guidance given by an unsuccessful but hardworking person is more important than the tips given by a successful person. He informed all the participants about the importance of Legal Studies course and how this course makes every citizen aware of their duties, rights and law. He gave the mantra that only by following the path of ‘rule of law, benefit of education, promise of security and support of employment’, home, family, city, state and India can be developed.
Before this, Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, no. Divya Chauhan, Vice-Principal of 2, C Block, Yamuna Vihar, inspired the parents that they should be supportive in the development of children and their education. He shared those measures which can create harmony between family, children and parents and children can achieve success in their life. He gave the children the basic mantra of basic knowledge, practice and persistence to achieve higher goals. He also inspired the children to prepare for UPSC and SSC and also gave some valuable tips. He also cleared the doubts of the parents by answering their questions. After this, Veena Sharma, who is a very popular mathematics teacher in Ghonda Vidyalaya, gave important tips to all the students on how they can learn mathematics in a playful, entertaining way. By giving examples, he inspired the children to understand mathematics through the activities around them so that they will become proficient in mathematics and mathematics will also become easy for them.
Meghvarna Sharma, Nodal Officer at Delhi Commission for Women, explained everything in very simple language on very serious issues like child safety and POCSO Act. He said that nowadays, due to lack of communication between parents and children, children become afraid of crimes being committed against them and many times they do not even inform anyone about it. This increases the morale of the criminals and they continue to harass children further. He expressed the need that there should be utmost trust between children and parents, so that children can express their feelings to them fearlessly. He told the children about their rights and explained about the provisions of the POCSO Act that provide protection to them. He also shared 1098 child helpline number with the children.
The program was conducted by Dr. Amit Sharma who is Assistant Professor at State Council of Educational Research, Delhi. Neetu Sharma and Kumari Aditi Sharma assisted Amit Sharma in operations. Committee members Ram Swaroop, Gaurav Kumar Goyal, Sandeep Kaushik, Madan Mohan Sharma, Ranjan Sharma, Abhinav Sharma, Kumari Aditi Sharma, Kumari Saumya Sharma made special contributions to conduct the program smoothly.
