Landfall of Cyclonic Storm Dana

Cyclonic storm Dana continues to wreak havoc. Cyclonic storm Dana made landfall in Dhamra in Bhadrak district of Odisha at 12:45 am. Its speed during landfall was 120 km per hour. At present, strong winds are blowing at the speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour in Odisha and West Bengal. Rain continues in many areas of Odisha and West Bengal.

Trees uprooted and hoardings broken by strong winds

Trees have been uprooted in many areas of Odisha after cyclone Dana hit. Due to this the roads have been closed. At the same time, hoardings have been broken due to strong winds. The Meteorological Department says that after the completion of landfall, there may be more heavy rain in the coastal areas. All safety measures have been taken to deal with Cyclone Dana in Odisha and West Bengal.

10 lakh people from 14 districts shifted in Odisha

Teams of NDRF, SDRF, district administration are deployed in the storm affected areas. As a precaution, 10 lakh people from 14 districts of Odisha have been shifted. 3.5 lakh people have been sent to safe places in West Bengal. Due to the storm, 300 flights and 552 trains have been canceled in Bengal and Odisha.

Heavy damage in Dhamra and Bhadrak due to storm

Due to strong winds and heavy rains, there has been heavy damage in Dhamra and Bhadrak of Odisha. Strong winds are blowing due to the storm. The trees in the area have been uprooted. Electric poles have been uprooted. A warning has been issued to the local people not to leave their homes.

State disaster team is monitoring the impact of the storm

Cyclonic storm Dana is being continuously monitored in South 24 Parganas of West Bengal. State disaster teams are monitoring the impact of the storm. CM Mamata Banerjee is also taking stock of the impact of the storm along with state officials.

Rain alert in these states of the country

The impact of the cyclonic storm can be seen in Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and UP. There will be heavy rain with strong winds in West Bengal and Odisha. There are chances of rain in other states also. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding these states.
