Cyclone Dana: The widespread impact of the landfall of cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ is being seen. It is raining with strong stormy winds in Odisha and West Bengal. In Odisha, due to Storm Dana, trees and electric poles have fallen on the roads in many areas. Houses have also been damaged in many residential areas. Roads have been blocked due to fallen trees in coastal villages in Dhamra area of Bhadrak, Odisha. A full assessment of the damage can be done only after the impact of the storm subsides.

An Odisha Fire Services official said that roads were blocked due to uprooting of many trees. First we will clean NH and other roads and then we will move towards residential areas. Our two teams are working in Dhamra. So far we have no information about any serious damage.

Storm Dana is moving towards north-west at a speed of 10 km per hour. It is raining with strong winds in the affected areas. There are high waves rising in the sea. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah about the preparations of the state government.
Speed weakened after landfall
However, in the meantime, as the storm is moving ahead after landfall, its speed is weakening. The Meteorological Department is continuously monitoring the speed and direction of this storm. Let us tell you that a total of about 6 lakh people in Odisha have been shifted from dangerous places to safe places. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that these people have been kept in more than 6 thousand shelter homes. Food, water, medicine and other essential items are being provided in the shelter home.
