Rain alert in many states due to cyclonic storm Dana
The weather is going to deteriorate once again due to cyclonic storm ‘Dana’. There will be rain with strong thunderstorm in many parts of Odisha and West Bengal. Along with this, rain alert has also been issued in many other states of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a forecast saying that a cyclonic storm, which has been named Dana. This cyclonic storm will hit the Odisha coast. It is expected to reach the coast by October 24. There is a possibility of wind speed of 100 to 110 km per hour in Puri, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.
Tourists should not visit the pilgrimage town
Soon after the weather department’s warning, the Odisha government has issued guidelines for tourists. The government has appealed that tourists should leave Puri as soon as possible. Do not visit the pilgrimage town till the arrival of cyclonic storm.
CM held review meeting
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has chaired a review meeting on the weather situation. After this this advisory has been issued. CM Majhi said that tourists currently present in Puri should vacate the seaside town as it is likely to be affected by the severe cyclonic storm.
Will make landfall on Thursday
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that Cyclonic Storm Dana will make landfall on October 24 (Thursday). The impact of the storm will be seen in Odisha as well as West Bengal. Due to the storm, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has put 14 teams in West Bengal and 11 teams in Odisha on alert mode.

The weather department has predicted heavy rain in the coastal districts of East Midnapore, West Midnapore, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas on Wednesday. Fishermen were asked to stay away from the sea

The weather department also said that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Purulia and Bankura districts on October 24 and 25.
