Cyclone Dana’s landfall continues
Cyclonic storm Dana continues to make landfall in the eastern region of the country. The landfall occurred between Dhamra and Hablikhati Nature Camp in Odisha’s Bhadrak district at 12:45 pm on Thursday. Its speed during landfall was 100 km per hour. At present, strong winds are blowing at the speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour in Odisha and Bengal. Rain continues in many areas of Odisha and West Bengal. After the cyclone Dana hit, trees have been uprooted in many areas of Odisha due to which roads have been closed. At the same time, holdings were broken due to strong winds, petrol pumps were broken and tin sheds of shops were blown away.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department says that after the completion of landfall, there may be more heavy rain in the coastal areas. All safety measures have been taken to deal with Cyclone Dana in Odisha and West Bengal. Teams of NDRF, SDRF, district administration are deployed in the storm affected areas. As a precaution, 10 lakh people from 14 districts of Odisha have been shifted. At the same time, 3.5 lakh people have been sent to safe places in West Bengal. Due to the storm, 300 flights and 552 trains have been canceled in Bengal and Odisha.
