New Delhi. The Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama said today a day before his 90th birthday that I think, I will live 30-40 years more. He said, looking at many predictions, I think I have the blessings of Avlokiteshwar (Buddhist deity). I have made my best attempt so far and have got the fruits of all of you prayers. He laughed and said, I want to live more than 130 years so that I can serve the people of Buddha religion and Tibet more. This statement of the Dalai Lama can be considered as a break on the ongoing speculation about the announcement of his successor.

A special prayer ceremony was organized to wish the Dalai Lama, the main temple of Tibetans at Maklodganj, located in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, the Dalai Lama said this here. The Dalai Lama said, although we are not in our country Tibet, are living in exile in India, but here I have served people, mainly people living in Dharamshala. The Dalai Lama also mentioned a meeting with Chinese leader Mao Tse-Tung, in which Mao described religion as a slow poison. The Tibetan religious leader told that I had kept Mao’s compassion towards him, not giving any answer to this matter.

Let us tell you that for some time, it was feared that the Dalai Lama could announce the name of his successor on his 90th birthday. However, recently, the Dalai Lama has already clarified that his successor will be selected according to the Tibetan Buddhist traditions and for this he has entrusted the responsibility to the Gaden Fodrang Trust. On the other hand, China says that without our approval and identity, the next Dalai Lama will not get recognition. On this, Tsering, the head of Tibetan, running from Maklodganj, retaliated on China and said that he should find the rebirth of Mao, not of the Dalai Lama.
