New Delhi. The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the police and other authorities of the capital to quickly decide on the petition to make a database of women who complain of rape and other sexual offenses. The petition filed by Shony Kapoor in the Delhi High Court stated that some women are misusing rape laws.
A bench of Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said that the petitioner had already applied to the Delhi Police and other concerned officers. The petitioner turned to the Delhi High Court after not taking action on the application given to the Delhi Police and other officers in this regard. The petitioner has said that the court should give instructions to make a database of women who have filed several rape cases. The Delhi High Court said during the hearing that the matter comes under the jurisdiction of officers. Because they know how the police work well.
The Delhi High Court said that the petition is settled with the instructions that the concerned officer will take a decision on the petitioner’s application as soon as possible without expressing the opinion on the qualities and faults of the issues raised. Petitioner Shony Kapoor had said in the petition that the Delhi High Court government and Delhi Police instruct them to keep the records of the complainants at every district headquarters of the capital who have filed several allegations of rape or sexual offenses. It was demanded in the petition that identification, especially Aadhaar cards should be taken from those who complain about these cases.
