Karwar (Karnataka): Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will flag off the Indian Ocean vessel ‘Sagar’ (security and development for all in the region) on Saturday from the naval base strategically important in Karnataka. The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen India’s commitment to regional maritime security and international cooperation. Officials said that while visiting the naval base, he would also inaugurate some newly developed infrastructure. The Navy is expanding the project of the crucial naval base under the ‘Cabard’.
INS will show the green signal to Sunayna
The Defense Minister’s Office wrote on the social media forum ‘X’ on Saturday, “Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will flag off INS Sunayna as the Indian Ocean vessel ‘Sagar’ on which 44 workers are riding.” It has also shared a video in this post which depicts training stages organized on both land and sea under this mission.
The Defense Minister’s Office wrote, “The iOS will play an important role in shaping the future of the Sea Indian Ocean region, confirming India’s commitment to make strong connections with its marine neighbors and to work towards more safe and more inclusive maritime environment in the Indian Ocean region.” The Indian Ocean vessel (iS) ‘Sagar’ (Safety and Development for all in the region) is an initiative in the direction of continuous cooperation with IOR countries.
Armed forces need to prepare for future
Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh while addressing the half -yearly conference of top military commanders on Thursday said that theoretical changes should be made whenever necessary to prepare the armed forces for the future. He said that the armed forces should prepare a dynamic plan to face both long-term and short-term challenges keeping in mind the current dynamic geo-integral changes and global security scenarios.
Singh said, “The recommendations and suggestions made by senior leadership should be discussed on forums such as the military commander conferences and should take them to a logical conclusion with mid-term review and amendment if necessary. The nation is proud of its army and the government is committed to assisting the army to move forward on the path of reforms and capacity modernization. ”He said that ‘unconventional and asymmetric war, including hybrid’ war, would be part of the traditional wars of the future”. Singh emphasized the current geopolitical uncertainties and complex world status, which affects everyone globally. He said that the present world is “the world connected to each other” and such incidents, whether in the neighborhood or in distant countries, will affect everyone.
