New Delhi. Political stir has intensified in Delhi, as Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi on September 21. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday invited Atishi to form the government. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and many senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party will be present in this swearing-in ceremony. Atishi will become the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi and this will be the first time when a woman leader of Aam Aadmi Party will take oath as Chief Minister. Along with this, some MLAs will also be sworn in as ministers.

On Tuesday, Atishi met Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and staked claim to form the government. After this claim, the Lieutenant Governor sent her a call to form the government. According to sources, ministers from Arvind Kejriwal’s former cabinet may be sworn in as ministers again. Also, two new MLAs will be included in the cabinet, one of whom will be from the Dalit community.

These leaders can become ministers

According to sources, Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain, Kailash Gehlot and Saurabh Bhardwaj are likely to be made cabinet ministers again. However, the official announcement has not been made yet. There may be seven ministers in the Delhi cabinet, including the Chief Minister.

Arvind Kejriwal resigned

Earlier on Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal met the Lieutenant Governor and resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Before resigning, Atishi’s name was proposed for the post of Chief Minister in the Aam Aadmi Party Legislature Party meeting. All the MLAs unanimously approved this proposal, after which Atishi’s name was finalized as the Chief Minister.
