New Delhi. The decision of banning 10 -year -old diesel and 15 -year -old petrol vehicles in Delhi has been withdrawn for some time for some time. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM). Now this order will be re -implemented from 1 November 2025 and this time this rule will also apply in five districts of NCR Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad and Sonipat along with Delhi. The Delhi government implemented this order on 1 July, but two days later, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa wrote a letter to CAQM asking to stop the instructions not to fuel the end-of-life (EOL) vehicles.
Sirsa, referring to the flaws coming out after the implementation of this order, had said that the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras have been installed, there are many problems in them. Technical disturbances, non -work of sensors and the speaker malfunction, many such challenges are also facing. Also, this system is not able to identify the vehicles that do not have HSRP plates. He also told that this law has not yet been implemented in other areas of NCR. Due to this, people are taking fuel from other districts of NCR instead of Delhi.
Manjinder Sirsa had told that we are developing a new system regarding the end of life vehicle. Our aim is to prevent pollution in Delhi and save the common man from trouble. He had told that the Delhi government is now considering introducing such a policy in which the old vehicles are not taken according to their registration period but according to the pollution level spreading from them.
