Delhi Police has informed that four children died due to drowning in Bawana canal under Narela police station area of Delhi this morning. The incident took place when the children landed in the canal to bathe to escape the heat. According to the prolific investigation, a child started drowning and other children also drowned in trying to save him. So far, the police have recovered two bodies. A police team is present at the scene along with other rescue forces, and efforts are on to recover the remaining bodies and investigate the incident.
According to the information received so far, a child had gone to the canal to wash his hands and feet and due to the foot slipping, he fell into the canal. To save him, the other three children also jumped into the canal, due to which the four children got into the canal. These four children worked in the Katewada Gaushala, after which the local people immediately informed the police. Along with this, fire departments and divers were also called. During this time the bodies of two children were recovered from inside the canal.
