Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Friday that his government is considering studying Mumbai’s Dharavi model for slum redevelopment in the national capital.
Gupta also claimed that some people are propagating about demolishing slums in Delhi.
He said, “If you build a house near the railway line, the Chief Minister will not save you.” I request people to think about security. If there is a railway accident and someone dies on the track, then who will be responsible? ”
Gupta said that the purpose of his government is not to demolish the houses. He said, “But it should not happen that we continue to provide houses and people do not leave the slums.”
The Chief Minister said that his government may study Mumbai’s Dharavi model for redevelopment of 675 slums in the national capital.
The huge slum located in the middle of Mumbai will be redeveloped through a joint venture of the Adani Group and the Government of Maharashtra.
When the Chief Minister was asked about sending summons by former Delhi Education Minister and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the classroom construction case, he said, “Everyone will have to bear the brunt of it.” Arvind Kejriwal will also have to return from Punjab. We do not want fugitive leaders. ”
Sisodia appeared before ACB on Friday for questioning in the said case.
