New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed appointment letters to the families of Sikh riot victims in 1984 today. During this, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa was also present with him. CM Rekha Gupta said that the struggle of so many years, your battle of rights, during the mass massacre in 1984, you suffered when many people of the families were killed, after that you tried to make yourself somehow again. During all these years, no government helped these families a single rupee, which was very tragic and disappointing for our Sikh brothers in Delhi. Today, I am very relaxed to see that 125 of the riot victims have been approved in jobs and 19 of them have already been appointed to their positions.

CM said, this is really a relief for all of us. Our government also started giving rebate for Kashmiri citizens who were leaving their homes and wandering from rate to rate. The Delhi government will also give pension for those who stay in jail during the Emergency. Just as they are respected in the rest of the states, they will now be respected by the Delhi government.

Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, there are about 600 families who have been waiting for justice since 1984 to nearly 40 years. Despite continuous efforts, the Congress blocked their employment opportunities. When I was the chairman of the Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, we came from the court to support his matters. Even the Aam Aadmi Party did not allow these appointments, as their supporters were associated with the Congress. The appointment of 125 people has been approved by LG VK Saxena only after the intervention of the Lieutenant Governor (LG) and the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
