Delhi High Court prevented Patanjali from broadcasting 'derogatory' advertisement against Dabur Chyawanprash

The Delhi High Court on Thursday banned Patanjali from the allegedly disseminating advertisements against Dabur Chyawanprash.

A bench of Justice Mini Pushkaran accepted Dabur’s interim petition requesting Patanjali to stop the advertisement. Justice Pushkaran said, “The petition is accepted.” The court has fixed July 14 for the next hearing of the case.

In fact, there has been a long -standing controversy between Dabur India Limited and Patanjali Ayurved in the Delhi High Court over an advertisement related to Chyawanprash. Dabur alleges that Patanjali through his advertisements is deliberately defaming Dabur’s Chyawanprash as “ordinary” and “weak”, causing confusion among consumers and causing damage to Dabur’s credibility.

Let me tell you that this dispute started in the year 2017, when Dabur filed a petition against Patanjali in the Delhi High Court. At that time, the court issued an interim order stopping Patanjali from broadcasting such misleading advertisements. The court admitted that Dabur’s reputation in Patanjali’s advertisements was being hurt and this could create an imbalance in the market.
