Earlier, the group of Imams under the leadership of Maulana Sajid Rashidi had been waiting for a long time to meet outside Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on 26 December. All of them are upset due to being made to run here and there and the issue of outstanding salaries not being resolved.

Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi in February 2025. There are many assembly seats in Delhi where Muslims decide victory and defeat. In such a situation, if the issue of outstanding salaries of Imams is not resolved, then it can also become an issue against Aam Aadmi Party in the assembly elections. The date of Delhi Assembly elections is likely to be announced in the first week of January. In such a situation, the Imam is saying that if the due salary is not received before then, the matter will get stuck and then they will have to wait longer.
