The Special Cell of Delhi Police has taken action against Zoya Khan, the third wife of the jailed gangster Hashim Baba, under the Maharashtra organized crime control act (MCOCA), who is accused of running her husband’s organized crime syndicate in Delhi.
Zoya Khan was arrested in the case of drug smuggling in February this year. Last year, he was questioned in several cases, including the murder of a businessman in the floor market area and the murder of Jim owner Nadir Shah in Greater Kailash, South Delhi. Police allege that she was operating Hashim Baba’s gang in Tihar Jail.
Police said the Special Cell will demand Zoya Khan’s custody for further questioning next week. Hashim Baba is an ally of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He was involved in several cases including murder and forced recovery. While out on bail, she married Zoya Khan in 2017. Baba was arrested in 2020 and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
In February this year, the Special Cell arrested Zoya Khan in the Nadir Shah murder.
During the hearing, Zoya Khan’s lawyer argued that he was not named in any revelations of the arrested accused. He also said that Zoya had cooperated in the investigation on two occasions when the investigating agency was called by the investigating agency. “My only crime is that I am the wife of Hashim Baba. I am not involved in any case filed against him.”
