Indonesia President Prabovo Subianto arrived in Delhi on Thursday night on his first visit to India. Subianto has come to Delhi as the chief guest of India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations. Indonesian President was welcomed by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margerita at the airport. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on ‘X’, “Indonesia President Prabovo Subianto is warmly welcomed on arriving in New Delhi on his first state visit to India.” “This journey will further strengthen the India-Indonesia broader strategic partnership,” he said.

According to the agency, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of New Delhi, Devesh Kumar Mahala said, “We have made multi-layer security arrangements for January 26. We have arranged for six-level investigation and search of vehicles. Video analytics and FRS (facial identification system) have been activated. “

He further informed that several thousand CCTV cameras have been installed at major places. The district police have deployed about 15,000 policemen. There are 8-9 briefing and rehearsals. The arrangements for 26 January and Delhi elections are almost the same. We are fully prepared and capable of dealing with any contingency situation.

During the visit of Subiayanto, several compromises are expected by both sides to increase cooperation in many areas. He will be the fourth Indonesian President to attend India’s Republic Day celebrations. Indonesia’s first President Sukarno was the chief guest at India’s first Republic Day celebrations in 1950. The 352 -member marching and band squad from Indonesia will participate in the Republic Day parade on the duty path here. This will be the first time that Indonesian marching and band squad will participate in the National Day Parade abroad. India-Indonesia relations have been strengthened over the years.

Regarding VIP security, DCP Mahla said that additional precautions have been taken for VIPs and foreign guests joining the program. He said, “There are many places for VIPs and foreign guests. Overall about 1 lakh people will come.”
