Delhi: Rekha Gupta will take oath as CM in Ramlila Maidan today, preparations for swearing -in ceremony

More than 25,000 security personnel and more than 15 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in the national capital for the swearing -in ceremony of the new Chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan today i.e. on Thursday. Police gave this information.

The ceremony is expected to attend the top leaders of the party, including the Chief Ministers of the BJP ruled states.

“We have deployed more than 15 companies of more than 25,000 police personnel and paramilitary forces,” the official said. He said that “strong” security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order.

He said, “More than 5,000 police and paramilitary personnel are deployed around Ramlila Maidan and around 2,500 strategic points have been identified, where heavily deployed has already been deployed.”

Rekha Gupta, who became MLA for the first time, will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. With this, the dilemma that has been going on for 11 days has come to an end that after more than 26 years, who will get the top position after the BJP’s return to power. With this, the 10 -year rule of AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal has come to an end.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Gupta (50) was elected the leader of the House in the Delhi Assembly in a meeting of BJP Legislature Party late Wednesday night.

Gupta later met Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and claimed to form the government. Police said that only authorized people will be allowed to go to the venue and a proper traffic plan has been prepared.

Along with other emergency response teams, barricades will be installed at several levels to ensure safety of dignitaries.

About 50,000 people are expected to attend the ceremony, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues and Chief Ministers of the National Democratic Alliance -ruled states.

Police said commandos, quick response teams, PCR vans and SWAT teams have been deployed at strategic places, while snipers have been deployed at nearby high buildings. He informed that every corner is being monitored through CCTV cameras identifying AI based face.
