New Delhi. The arbitrary fees of private schools of Delhi, the capital of the country, are going to curb the increase. Delhi’s Rekha Gupta government is going to bring Delhi School Education Bill 2025 in the monsoon session of the assembly. Through this bill, an increase in fees in the fees of private schools in Delhi will be prevented. Announcing this, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that the bill was passed by the cabinet on 29 April. After the bill is passed, whatever private schools will increase arbitrary fees, strict fine will be imposed on them.
A provision is being made in the Delhi School Education Bill 2025 that for the first time, the concerned school will be fined 1 lakh to 5 lakh rupees for increasing arbitrary fees. After this, if the private school increases arbitrary fees again, it will be fined 2 to 10 lakh rupees. In this bill, this provision is also being made that the private school will have to return the increased fees within a fixed deadline. If this is not done, then after 20 days, twice after, 40 times after 40 days and the fine will increase. If the private school continues to increase the fees, then the functioning of its management and the increase in the fees will also be banned.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that the bill will be passed in the monsoon session of Delhi Assembly, which starts from August 4. He said that the government intends to ban exploitation in the education sector. In the past, there was also an incident of withdrawal of all the students for not paying increased fees in DPS Dwarka. The Delhi High Court intervened on this. The Delhi High Court had ordered the withdrawal of students of Delhi Public School as inhuman and ordered that the students should be charged fees in installments. At the same time, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has said that the government is also going to work towards the audit of private schools. All 1670 private schools will be audited to bring alleged corruption and transparency in the fees hike in Delhi.
