Delhi will submerge! Yamuna beyond the danger mark, the houses submerged; Water entered in residential areas

The water level of the Yamuna river has crossed the danger mark on Tuesday in the capital Delhi-NCR i.e. on Monday from Monday. Also, water has started entering houses in some parts of the Yamuna area of Delhi.

The continuous heavy rains have also increased traffic problems. Especially on the Delhi-Gurugram border, long queues of vehicles have been installed and the movement has slowed down.

This weather condition has also increased the possibility of flooding on the banks of river Yamuna. Officials have issued a warning to be vigilant in this area. The affected people are being shifted to the relief camp.

The water level of Yamuna was recorded at 205.68 meters at 6 am, which is more than 205.33 meters of danger. Officials have warned that the water level can reach 206.50 meters by 5 pm.

A large amount of water is being released every hour from Hathnikund barrage in Haryana, which has increased the risk of floods in the lower areas of the capital. The District Magistrate of Shahdara said that traffic and movement of common people will be stopped on the iron bridge from 5 pm on Tuesday evening.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rains with clouds in Delhi on Tuesday. The maximum temperature is estimated to be around 31 ° C and the minimum temperature is 22 ° C.

In Gurugram on Monday, continuous rains were flooded in many parts of the city and traffic jams were created. From 3 pm to 7 pm, the city recorded more than 100 mm rainfall. Due to this, an orange alert was issued for heavy rains.

Areas such as Hero Honda Chowk, Patel Nagar and Signature Bridge were the most affected. The drainage system collapsed due to water filling in the service lane of Dwarka Expressway. This expressway connects Dwarka in Delhi to Kherki Daula and several sectors of Gurugram.

In view of the prediction made by IMD, the District Disaster Management Authority has advised schools to start online class and allow employees of private offices to allow work from home.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky will be cloudy from 2 to 4 September 2025 in Delhi and there is a possibility of light rain or lightning every day.

Citizens have been advised to take precautions. In 2023 too, many areas were submerged due to heavy rains in Delhi and more than 25,000 people had to be transferred to safe places.
