Delhi underground tube tunnels: Delhiites are now going to get some relief from the jam. CM Rekha Gupta has made a big announcement about this. He said that infrastructure projects of Rs 24,000 crore have been approved by the central government for the national Delhi and its surrounding areas.
CM said that the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Central Government has flagged off six new projects. One of them also includes the five -kilometer long tunnel route. The main objective of this project is to balance the traffic of South Delhi and NCR and at the same time to control pollution. This will change the proposed entire region. This tunnel route from Shiva Murthy Mahipalpur (Dwarka Expressway) to Nelson Mandela Marg (Vasant Kunj) will reduce traffic from many roads as well as signal free.
Delhi underground tube tunnels: Tunnel will be constructed by National Highway Authority (NHAI)
CM Rekha Gupta informed that this tunnel will be constructed by National Highways Authority (NHAI). It will cost about Rs 3,500 crore to construct it. He informed that this project has been approved in a meeting held under the leadership of Union Highways and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in recent times. Construction of this tunnel will be completed within the coming three years. This tunnel will be built as two separate tunnels which will have three-three lanes. There will be a total of six lanes facility under this.
Tunnel will be fully equipped with modern facilities
CM Rekha Gupta said that this high-tech tunnel will not only connect South Delhi to Dwarka and Gurugram. Along with this, it will also provide a signal-free optional route. The tunnel will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as electro-mechanical systems, ventilation, fire fighting, CCTV surveillance, control room and emergency withdrawal route. Due to its construction, traffic pressure on Rangpuri, Dhaula Kuan, Rao Tula Ram Marg and NH-48 will also be reduced.
The CM said that the tunnel will add major routes to the eastern and central parts of Delhi to Delhi Expressway, NH-44, NH-10, Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH-48), Delhi-Doon Expressway and Urban Extension Road. This will reduce the traffic congestion on the routes and highways. Along with this, you will also get rid of pollution. The project will start at the beginning of the next year.
