Delhi Police has arrested another accused in connection with the ongoing investigation of the spy racket related to Pakistani intelligence agencies (PIOs). An official gave this information on Saturday. He said that the accused has been identified as Haseen (42). He is Kasim’s elder brother, who was earlier arrested for providing Indian SIM card for espionage activities.
“As part of the investigation, Hasin was arrested from the city area of Deeg district of Rajasthan. During interrogation, it was found that Haseen had gone to Pakistan to meet relatives about 15 years ago and was allegedly in touch with ISI officials for the last 4 to 5 years,” the official said. He said that in August 2024, Hasin sent a SIM card registered in his name to Pakistan through his brother Qasim. The official said that it was later revealed that that SIM card was being used by Pakistani intelligence operative.
Police said Haseen not only provided the facility of broadcasting SIM card, but also provided OTP to help activate WhatsApp accounts in Pakistan. He said that it has also been alleged that he sent pictures of sensitive Indian Army establishments to Pakistani handlers and received money in return.
Investigation further revealed that Haseen, along with his brother Qasim, his brother -in -law and sister, played an important role in getting a Pakistani visa for a visit in August 2024 with the help of ISI operative.
A police source said that he was produced in court and sent to five days police custody for questioning to find out the entire limit of the detective network, including his Indian associates and financial relations.
The source said that Haseen’s name came to light during interrogation of Kasim, in which he revealed that when he went to Pakistan, the handlers there told him that his brother already works for him and he should do so. The revelations inspired the investigators to involve Hasin in the ongoing investigation.
The main accused Qasim visited Pakistan twice – first in August 2024 and then in March 2025 – and stayed there for about 90 days. A senior police officer said during his visits, he allegedly met Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officials.
The case is of September 2024, when intelligence inputs were found about misuse of Indian mobile numbers to extract sensitive information by foreign handlers. The official said these SIM cards allegedly purchased in India were sent across the border and used by Pakistani operatives to contact Indian citizens through social media. “Using these numbers, the PIO contacted Indians and tried to extract classified information related to government establishments,” the official said.
