Mumbai The expansion of Devendra Fadnavis’ Mahayuti government in Maharashtra is going to happen soon. According to reports, the expansion of the Mahayuti government will take place on December 14. After this, the winter session of Maharashtra Assembly is to be held in Nagpur from 16th December. According to the latest information, in the expansion of Devendra Fadnavis government, 42 ministers can be made from BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. According to reports, 20 BJP ministers will be made. Whereas, 12 ministers from Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and 10 from Ajit Pawar’s NCP will take oath. The names of all these are being decided.
Currently, only Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar are running the Maharashtra government. Recently all three of them had taken oath. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar have been made deputy CMs in the grand alliance government. Earlier in the Mahayuti government, Eknath Shinde was the CM and Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were the Deputy CMs. The results of Maharashtra Assembly elections came on 23 November. After this, discussions gained momentum that Eknath Shinde wants the post of CM and failing that, he is claiming 9 important departments including the Home Department. However, Eknath Shinde had come before the media twice and made it clear that whatever decision PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah take, it will be acceptable to them.
Mahavikas Aghadi had suffered a major setback in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP gave the best performance on behalf of Mahayuti and won 132 seats. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena had won 57 seats and Ajit Pawar’s NCP had won 41 seats. At the same time, in the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena-UBT got maximum 20 seats, Congress got 16 and Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction got only 10 seats. Because of this, the leader of any of the three opposition parties is not even eligible for the post of Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly. It was necessary for the Leader of Opposition to win 29 seats.
