New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party legislature party leader Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra today. This grand ceremony will be organized at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, which will also be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nagpur MLA Fadnavis (54) will become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai, where elaborate security arrangements have been made. Assembly elections were held in Maharashtra on 20 November and their results came on 23 November. After intense talks that lasted for almost two weeks after the election results, the government is going to be formed today under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis.

Along with Fadnavis, leaders of Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will also take oath as ministers in his government. The list of probable ministers includes prominent leaders of BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP.

BJP’s performance was excellent

The BJP put forward Fadnavis’ name for the post of Chief Minister after emerging as the largest party by winning 132 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly. The BJP formed a grand alliance government with Shiv Sena and NCP, which has the support of a total of 230 seats in the assembly.

Shinde and Pawar claimed support

On Wednesday, Devendra Fadnavis along with Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar met Governor CP Radhakrishnan and staked a formal claim to form the government. All three parties submitted their letters of support to the Governor.

Shinde expressed satisfaction

Expressing satisfaction over the completion of two and a half years of the Mahayuti government, Eknath Shinde said that his team has done remarkable work. He said, “We took such big decisions, which will be written in golden letters in history.”
