In protest against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, storyteller Devkinandan Thakur has written a letter to the United Nations on behalf of the Sanatan Nyas Foundation, demanding intervention. He said that the United Nations was established to deal with any crisis affecting humanity and to intervene when atrocities occur. Today, when the government of Bangladesh is not able to provide security to Hindus, then it should create a Hindu nation by giving a separate place to Hindus. The United Nations should take responsibility in this and divide Bangladesh by creating a Hindu Rashtra. Thakur said that Bangladesh would not have been formed without Hindus, if our army had not fought, Bangladesh would not have been formed. We have made sacrifices and we have a right to it.

Devkinandan Thakur said, Hindus are being tortured in Bangladesh. Their houses are being burnt, shops are being looted, temples are being destroyed and priests are being arrested and their lawyers are being prevented from reaching the courts, women are being robbed of their dignity, they are being forced from their homes. Being taken out and dragged on the streets, if this is not oppression then what is it? Is this not an important issue for the United Nations? Is it because he is a Hindu that the United Nations has refused to speak on this matter?
