New Delhi. India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai has been promoted. He has also been entrusted with the responsibility of the post of Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy). The name of Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai came into the limelight during Operation Sindoor. In fact, Pakistan’s DGMO contacted the DGMO of India for seaf fire. After that, there has been a conversation between the DGMOs of the two countries twice. Earlier, President Draupadi Murmu honored General Ghai with the Best War Service Medal Award last week.
General Ghai was also present in the press conference that army officers held during Operation Sindoor. The Ministry of Defense says that General Ghai has been made Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy) to reconcile between the Indian Army and other very important departments including the intelligence agency. Let us tell you that the Deputy-Chief of Army Staff (Strategy) is a new post. While holding this post, Lieutenant General Ghai will also take responsibility for the Indian Army’s Operation and Intelligence Directorate and other important wings. Lieutenant General Ghai was posted as DGMO on 25 October last year. He has a very long experience working in military service.
General Ghai has led many anti -terrorism campaigns in Jammu and Kashmir. General Ghai, a senior military officer of Kumaon Regiment, has also served as GOC of Chinar Corps before becoming DGMO. Any type of military operations on India’s borders are overseen by DGMO. Regarding Operation Sindoor, General Ghosh had said that we have accurately found out and demolished terrorist bases in Pakistan. The purpose of the operation was not to count the number, the terrorist network spread in Pakistan was to end.
