New Delhi. The temperature of politics is at its peak amid the election atmosphere in Maharashtra. The round of attacks and counter-attacks continues between Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) and Mahayuti. Meanwhile, on the complaints of Congress and other opposition parties, the Election Commission has taken a big step against Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla. The Election Commission has issued an order to remove Rashmi Shukla from the post of DGP with immediate effect and has given instructions to transfer her.
The Commission has ordered the Chief Secretary of the state to hand over the charge of DGP to the next senior most IPS officer. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to send a panel of names of 3 senior IPS officers for new appointment to the post of DGP by 1 pm on 5th November.

Strict instructions from CEC Rajeev Kumar
Behind this decision of the Election Commission are the complaints of opposition parties including Congress, in which they had alleged that there is little hope of fair elections during the tenure of Rashmi Shukla. The Commission immediately took cognizance of this and took this action. Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajeev Kumar had instructed state officials to remain impartial and non-partisan in the review meetings.

Opposition parties had raised questions about the impartiality of DGP Rashmi Shukla. He said that despite the implementation of the code of conduct in the state, there is a lack of impartiality in the attitude of the DGP.
