Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday demanded Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP leaders and Eknath Shinde to publicly apologize, when the Mumbai Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) denied a disturbance in Disha Salian’s death.
Raut told reporters, “Now Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should apologize (Aditya Thackeray). Narayan Rane’s son Nitish Rane, Devendra Fadnavis, other BJP leaders, Eknath Shinde, all of them should apologize to Shiv Sena and Aditya Thackeray.
The SIT submitted its report to the Bombay High Court, stating that no evidence of murder or conspiracy was found in the case. NCP (SCP) leader Rohit Pawar also criticized the BJP for trying to add Aditya Thackeray with the death of Salian.
NCP-SCP leader Rohit Pawar told ANI, “Aditya Thackeray had nothing to do with the incident. The BJP and his allies attempted to take political advantage by connecting Disha Salian’s name with Aditya Thackeray … These leaders tried to use the name of a person who is no longer.”
Earlier in April, Satish Salian, father of the late celebrity manager Disha Salian, filed a writ petition against the Shiv Sena (UBT leader) Aditya Thackeray and others for alleged involvement in his daughter’s death.
Talking to ANI, he said, “I trust the judiciary and God.” Satish Salian made an emotional appeal for justice, seeking a narco test on all the alleged accused. He also revealed that he has demanded security for himself and his lawyer, and emphasized his determination to take the matter to his conclusion.
He expressed his disappointment over the lack of progress in the case, and cited alleged inaction during the 2.5 -year tenure of the previous government led by Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Satish Salian said that he was forced to take the matter into his hand and had to knock the court door for justice.
