New Delhi. Everything is not going well in the Congress government of Karnataka. Differences have been exposed between Chief Minister M. Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivkumar over the transfer of officers. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the transfer of officers by the CM and also wrote a letter in this regard to the Chief Secretary of the state. After the letter written by the Deputy CM to the Chief Secretary, the Karnataka Congress was exposed. However, no response has been given by the Government of Karnataka in this regard.
The entire controversy began after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah transferred the Chief Engineers of the Ministry of Water Resources. The charge of the Ministry of Water Resources is with Deputy CM DK Shivkumar and the CM transferred the officers without his approval. Angered by this, DK Shivkumar wrote a letter to the Principal Secretary. In the letter, the Deputy CM has said that when I gave clear instructions at the beginning of the government’s tenure that my permission is mandatory for this. Despite this, the Chief Engineers of the Water Resources Department were transferred without my approval.
Revealing this, the Deputy CM has issued a directive to the Chief Secretary that this order should be withdrawn immediately and my approval should be taken before implementing any such decision in future. Remind you that when the Congress won after the assembly elections in Karnataka, there was also a tussle between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar over the post of Chief Minister. However, after the Congress high command was explained later, Shivkumar agreed to the post of deputy CM.
