Rajkot/New Delhi: Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandavia led the nationwide Fit India Sunday on Cycle Campaign at the Bharavadar, Rajkot, where he along with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service Scheme (NSS) along with the Moh India volunteers. During this period, about 200 participants rode a bicycle with enthusiasm, inspiring people to stay fit and free from obesity.
The cycling campaign was organized simultaneously at several places in India, including the capitals of all states and union territories, besides SAI Regional Center, National Center for Excellence (NCOE) and Khelo India Center (KIC).

At the prestigious Major Dhyanchand National Stadium in New Delhi, more than 600 citizens also participated in fitness activities like Zumba and Rope Jumping before joining the cycling campaign with famous actor and rugby India president Rahul Bose. People also participated in a fun competition with India’s push up man Rohtash Chaudhary.
What did Rahul Bose say?
During this, while addressing a huge gathering, Rahul Bose said that Sunday on Cycle Campaign is a great initiative. Fitness is important, but what makes this campaign different is the community spirit that promotes it. He said that cycling is great for the health of itself and for heart health, but when you do it with others, this experience is even more beneficial.
He said, ‘When it comes to my fitness system, I often do not go to the gym. If I go, for strength enhancing exercise. I always like to play. I eagerly wait for running on the track, squash, badminton, football or rugby. I actively look for opportunities to play with the team. ‘

People gathered in Lucknow too
At Sai Regional Center in Lucknow, more than 100 participants gathered at the CRPF ground in the Sainik Colony to spread the message of fitness and health. Under Sai RC Mumbai, the event was held at two places in collaboration with Mai Bharat Volunteers, including children and their parents of nearby communities in interactive and educational activities.
Let us know that till now, a nationwide cycling campaign has been organized at more than 5000 places since December 2024, in which more than 2.5 lakh persons have participated. Earlier, in the cycling program, Indian Army personnel, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and major sports stars like Lovelina Borgohen, Sangram Singh, Shanki Singh, Neetu Ghanghus, Sweety Boora, Paris Paralympic medal medalist Nitesh Kumar, Manisha Ramdas, Rubina Francis and Simarman Sharma (Paper Vishwa Champion) Celebrities like Amit Sial and Gul Panag were involved.
‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ has been organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), My Bikes and My India.
President of Rugby India praised Khelo India initiative
Praising the Khelo India Mission of the Government of India, Ragby India President Rahul Bose said that Khelo India has been a major change for sports in recent years. The introduction of rugby 7 women’s game in the ASMITA League has attracted many girls and women to the game. Indian women are moving fast in this game. Our women’s team is ranked 10th in Asia, while the men’s team ranks 15th.
He said that this initiative, which brought women together to play from all corners of the country, has been incredible. We are really grateful to Khelo India, Fit India and Ministry of Sports and Sports for their unwavering commitment to promote sports and fitness across India.
