Some passengers were injured in this attack, which created chaos at the station and spread panic among the passengers.

The incident took place on Saturday evening, when some intoxicated youth suddenly arrived at the railway station and started attacking passengers without any reason. The youth who attacked used plastic pipes, due to which many passengers were injured. During this time, a TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) employee also became the victim of attack, who later complained to the Railway Police.

Three arrested including a minor

Avadi Railway Police took prompt action and registered a case based on the complaint of the victims. Police formed three special teams to identify and arrest the criminals. The police have so far arrested three accused, including a minor, involved in this attack.

Further action is underway in the investigation being conducted by the police. Additional police are being deployed at the station to ensure the safety of passengers, so that such incidents can be prevented. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Railway Administration has also assured to further tighten the security arrangements.
