Earthquake tremors were felt on Monday morning in the national capital and surrounding areas. Earthquake intensity measured 4.0. There is no notice of any damage from the earthquake or casualties at the moment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on X that earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and surrounding areas. He urged everyone to remain calm and follow safety measures, as well as to be vigilant for possible shocks.
The Prime Minister said that the officials are keeping a close watch on the situation. The earthquake was at a depth of five kilometers in the lake park area of Dhaula Kuan and there are reports of loud sounds after the earthquake.
According to the National Earthquake Science Center, earthquake tremors were felt at 5.36 am in the morning. Earthquakes generated five or ten kilometers below the surface, cause more damage than the earthquakes generated significantly below the surface.
An official said that small, low -intensity earthquakes occur once every two to three years in the lake park area. In the year 2015, there was a 3.3 magnitude earthquake. Delhi Police requested people to be safe by posting a post on ‘X’.
Delhi Police said, “We hope you all are safe, Delhi!” He also urged people to call the helpline number 112 in an emergency. People living in tall buildings in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad came out of their homes due to the rapid earthquake.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi said on the social media platform ‘X’, “The earthquake was just felt in Delhi. I pray to God to be safe. ”
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal also shared the post of Atishi and said that he prays for the safety of all. Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak said in a post on ‘X’, “The earthquake tremors in Delhi, which woke up from sleep. I hope and pray that all are safe and healthy.
