ED Arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan: AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan arrested by ED, action taken in money laundering case related to Waqf Board

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Action has been taken against the AAP MLA from Okhla in the money laundering case related to the Delhi Waqf Board. Earlier, the ED raided Amanatullah’s house this morning. After this investigation and interrogation that lasted for about 4 hours, ED officials arrested Amanatullah Khan and took him with them. Amanatullah Khan says that I am being unnecessarily implicated.

The AAP MLA is accused of making appointments in the board during his first tenure as the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. Then in 2018, when Amanatullah Khan became the Delhi Waqf Board chairman again, he appointed 32 people. It is alleged that Amanatullah Khan gave jobs to his close relatives and 24 people from Okhla in the Delhi Waqf Board. It is also alleged that Amanatullah Khan also appointed people from his village in the Delhi Waqf Board. The Finance Department of the Delhi Government also made allegations against Amanatullah Khan. After which Amanatullah Khan left the post of Chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. Amanatullah Khan is also accused of illegally renting out the properties of the Delhi Waqf Board.

Apart from this, Amanatullah Khan is also accused of investing in real estate by getting money from appointments made in Delhi Waqf Board. In this case, ED had sent summons to Amanatullah Khan under money laundering. Amanatullah Khan has been arrested earlier also in the Waqf Board scam case. Amanatullah Khan was then arrested by CBI, later he got bail and came out of jail. Now ED, which is investigating money laundering related to Waqf Board scam case, has arrested the AAP MLA.
