ED raids 16 locations of RJD MLA Alok Mehta in Bihar, allegation of bank loan scam

New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate has taken major action against RJD MLA and former minister Alok Mehta in the bank loan scam case. The ED team raided 16 locations linked to Alok Mehta in several states including Bihar, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Kolkata. Mehta is accused of being involved in a fake bank loan scam of around Rs 85 crore.

The matter is related to Vaishali Urban Corporation Bank

This action of ED is related to the scam related to Vaishali Urban Corporation Bank. According to sources, a huge amount was embezzled by creating a fake loan account. In this case, the role of Alok Mehta, who has been the promoter of this bank, is being considered suspicious. Charges have also been leveled against the chairman, CMD, CEO and other officials of the bank.

Raid on government residence in Patna also

The ED team also raided Alok Mehta’s official residence in Patna, where a large number of police forces have been deployed. During the raid, the ED team is examining the documents related to Mehta and his companies. During this time he is also being interrogated.

Raid at 9 locations in Bihar

ED has raided 9 locations in Bihar. Alok Mehta is associated with Ujiarpur area and has had a long political career. He is counted among the senior leaders of RJD and has been the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms Department in the Grand Alliance Government.
