The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday searched the premises of Rajasthan Congress leader and former minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas under an investigation. Official sources gave this information.
Khachariwas said that this is a politics -inspired action, as he has been speaking against the government. Addressing journalists outside his house, he said that he has not done anything wrong and he is not “afraid” from the ED.
On receiving information about the ED’s action, his supporters reached outside his residence and started shouting slogans in support of him.
A team of the investigating agency reached the ancestral home of Pratap Singh Khachariwas, nephew of former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and searched.
Khachariwas told reporters, “They have brought notice to search the campus. They have not given notice related to any company. The campus can be searched anywhere in the country, this is their right. I am neither afraid nor panic.” He said, “If there is an issue, I will answer. There are six lawyers from me.”
The Congress leader said that the ED had come to search his house to scare him.
He said, “BJP is arrogant. He has a government at the center for 11 years, he has a government in Rajasthan too. I have been speaking against him, so he has taken this action, but I am not afraid.”
Khachariwas alleged that the ED takes action without any reason. He said, “He called our leader Rahul Gandhi. When he gives any reason, I will answer. The ED has not yet given any reason for the search.” He said that the BJP government should not do politics through ED.
The former minister said that he has nothing to do with any company. The Federal Investigation Agency is also searching some campuses at other places in the case.
