New Delhi. The Election Commission has answered every question raised by the Congress regarding the Maharashtra Assembly elections. On Congress’s allegation of deletion of voters’ names from the voter list, the Election Commission said that the entire procedure has been followed for the names that have been deleted. On Congress’s claim of wrong voting, the Election Commission said that the complete data is uploaded on the Commission’s website and can be downloaded from there. The Election Commission has sent a detailed reply to all the allegations of Congress in 66 pages to the party.
Congress had alleged that Mahayuti candidates won 47 out of 50 seats in Maharashtra elections because voting was gamed. The Election Commission wrote in reply that the voting percentage data is recorded in Form 17C with the agents of the candidates at the time of close of voting. Congress can match that figure. The Election Commission also said that before removing the voter’s name from the voter list, the entire related procedure has been followed.
Along with issuing the notice, a field survey was conducted to ensure that either the voter concerned has died, otherwise the address of that voter has changed. Only after this the names of such people have been removed from the voter list. The Election Commission has termed Congress’s claim of adding 50 thousand new voters in 50 assembly seats from July to November as completely false. The Election Commission termed this complaint as factually inappropriate and said, we have checked the details of each seat. From July to November, 50 thousand voters have been added, but they have been added only to 6 assembly seats.
