The Election Commission (EC) on Monday released the names of 65 lakh people, which were removed from the draft voter list published under the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise.

He informed that the Election Commission is publishing the names of ‘ASD’ (absent, transferred and dead) voters at polling stations and it is likely to be done online as per the instructions of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission reacted strongly to the Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘vote theft’.
The Election Commission accused political parties of targeting voters and putting the charge on the Election Commission. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar asked Rahul Gandhi to submit an affidavit with evidence within 7 days or apologize in public.
