New Delhi. On Sunday, the Election Commission responded in a press conference on the allegation of ‘vote theft’ on behalf of Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar said that wrong words like vote theft are being used and the Election Commission is standing in front of it like a rock. He turned back on the allegations being made by Rahul Gandhi and the leaders of the opposition and asked whether it is not an insult to the Constitution?

The Chief Election Commissioner said that in the past, photos of several voters were released without approval. He said on Rahul Gandhi’s demand to give the machine reedable voter list that there is a possibility of violation of privacy. Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar said that there is neither party nor any opposition for the Election Commission. Giving statistics, he said that apart from government employees in the Lok Sabha elections, booth level agents and candidates of candidates were also involved. He said that it is wrong if the public should not be applied to remove the mistake at the right time and the public is misled by using wrong words like vote theft. The Chief Election Commissioner said that some people made such baseless allegations. If asked for evidence from him, he did not answer. Gyanesh Kumar said that the Election Commission is not afraid of baseless allegations. The Chief Election Commissioner accused the opposition that he was trying to do politics by placing a gun on the commission’s shoulder.
