election Commission
New Delhi: The Election Commission has rejected the opposition’s charge in which the voter list accused him of rigging. Sources associated with the Election Commission said that only 89 appeals were made to improve the voter list. The opposition’s charge is absolutely wrong. The allegations made by the opposition were without any facts.
Election Commission gave this argument
The Election Commission says that names are added and removed in the voter list before the election. If a person is dead or does not live in the respective place or has changed his constituency, then the names of such people are cut from the list. The Commission adds new eligible voters to the list in a justified and transparent manner. Duplicate and dead voters are removed from the list.
89 appeals have been filed in Maharashtra
According to sources, only 89 appeals were filed in Maharashtra. While there were 13,857,359 booth level agents (BLA) in the country. Only 89 appeals were made to change the voter list. Sources said that if someone says that the voter list on which the voting has been held is not correct, they have not read the election law proposed by the government in 1961 and the Election Act passed by Parliament in 1961.
Elections are going to be held in Bihar and other states in the next few months, so opposition parties are likely to raise the issue further. But the Election Commission, which has earlier said that copying of EPIC numbers does not mean “duplicate/fake voter”, stands up on its point and has released data to prove its point.
Rahul Gandhi had made serious allegations
Explain that during the winter session of Parliament, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi appealed for a detailed discussion on the voter list. The Congress and its allies accused the voter list of discrepancies in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Rahul Gandhi had alleged that about 3 million voters have been added to the voter list of Maharashtra from 2019 to 2024.
