New Delhi. Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi held a press conference today in which he made several allegations against the Election Commission, including disturbing the voter list in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule were also present in Maharashtra’s Mahavikas Aghadi alliance at the press conference with Rahul. Sanjay Raut and Supriya Sule also sought answers on the working style of the Election Commission. At the same time, in response from the Election Commission, it has been said that written reply will be given with full facts.

The Election Commission has written a post without naming any party or politician on its officer’s X account. The Commission says that the ECI gives deep importance to the ideas, suggestions and questions coming from various political parties and their leaders. In relation to the election, the Commission will respond in writing with complete factual and procedural matrix equally adopted across the country. Although there is no mention of any particular person, because this tweet of the Election Commission has come after Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, it is being seen in the same context.

Rahul Gandhi has said that we have found many irregularities in voters and voting list in Maharashtra assembly elections. 32 lakh new voters were added in 5 years between the assembly 2019 and Lok Sabha 2024 elections in Maharashtra. Whereas between Lok Sabha 2024 and Assembly 2024 elections, 39 lakh new voters were added in just 5 months. Rahul alleged that 35000 new voters were added in each assembly constituency and all these votes went to the BJP. Maharashtra has an adult population of 9.54 crore, while the state has 9.7 crore voters. How did more voters become more than population.
