Election Commission’s response
The Election Commission said that it would respond with full facts in writing on the allegations of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding exceeding the total population of the state. Soon after Rahul made allegations in the press conference, the Election Commission said in a post on the social media forum ‘X’, “Election Commission (ECI) considers political parties as priority parties, of course voters Are paramount and gives great importance to ideas, suggestions, questions coming from political parties. ”
The Commission said without naming Gandhi or without referring to his allegations, “The Commission will respond in writing, following the entire factual and procedural process, which has been adopted equally throughout the country.”
39 lakh new voters were added in 5 months- Rahul
The Congress leader claimed that according to government data, Maharashtra has an adult population of 9.54 crore, while the state has 9.7 crore voters. He alleged that Maharashtra has more voters than the state’s total population. Gandhi alleged that 39 lakh voters were added to Maharashtra in five months after the Lok Sabha elections, while 32 lakh voters were added in the last five years.
