New Delhi. Mosques in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh are being run on stolen electricity. Not only this, stolen electricity is also being supplied from mosques to many houses in the locality. This was revealed when a search campaign was conducted in Deepa Sarai and other areas of SP MP Ziaur Rahman Burke’s locality. Major electricity theft was caught in Ladnio Wali Masjid of Deepa Sarai. Apart from this, Nakhasa intersection and Ganj Masjid were also being operated with stolen electricity. Under the leadership of DM Dr. Rajendra Pensia and SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, the team of electricity department along with policemen arrived early in the morning to raid about 5 remaining people.
In many nearby houses, household appliances like refrigerators, inverters, washing machines etc. were being run using stolen electricity by Katiya from Ladnio Wali Masjid in Deepa Sarai, the locality of SP MP Ziaur Rehman Burke. DM told that the entire roof of a house had been made an illegal power house from where electricity was being supplied to many other houses. Apart from this, electricity theft has been detected in 250 to 300 houses. The DM says that an FIR will be lodged against the people involved in electricity theft and the financial loss caused to the department by those people will also be recovered from them.

At the same time, the SP says that it will be found out whether any fee was being collected from the houses where stolen electricity was being supplied from the mosque. If found so, action will be taken against them under the Gangster Act.
