Bijapur. There is news of several Naxalites being killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur, Karnataka. Security forces had received information about the presence of Naxalites in the Madded area of Bijapur National Park. After which the operation against Naxalites was started. The encounter between security forces and Naxalites was continuing till the time of writing. According to the information, a large number of weapons have also been recovered from the slain Naxalites. According to the police, the Naxalites have been surrounded by the security forces. This encounter took place in the forests of Bandepara and Koranjed of Bhopalpatnam. According to Bijapur Police, more information will be given in this regard after the operation against Naxalites is over.
For the past few years, security forces have intensified operations against Naxalites. Under this, dozens of Naxalites have been killed. In which there are also Naxalite leaders with big rewards. Due to pressure from security forces, Naxalites are continuously surrendering. Just a few days ago, 11 Naxalites had surrendered before Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. The government does the work of bringing the surrendered Naxalites into the mainstream of society. Under this, they are provided jobs and other means of employment. Many Naxalites also get jobs in security forces.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that the Naxalite problem will be eliminated from the country by the year 2026. Under this, central forces are continuously taking action in Naxal affected states. In the last few years, the area of Naxalites has also shrunk. According to the latest information, by 2023 only 171 police stations in 42 districts are left with Naxalites. Whereas, in 2010, Naxalites had influence in 465 police station areas of 96 districts of the country. Around 100 hardcore Naxalites are still alive in 16 districts. A decline of 52 percent has also been recorded in Naxalite attacks. Whereas, from 2014 to 2023, more than 1800 Naxalites have been killed.
