Fast bowler Chris Woakes was included in the 14 -man squad of England on Thursday for the first match of the five -Test series against India in Leeds on June 20.

In addition to taking 181 wickets in 57 Tests so far, 36 -year -old Vox, who scored 1970 runs, played an important role in England’s major victory in India during the Lord’s Test during the 2018 series.

India will start its England tour from the first Test to be played in Handingley from 20 to 24 June while the second Test will be in Edgbaston from July 2 to 6.

The third Test will be played from 10 to 14 July at Lord’s, fourth from 23 to 27 July in Old Trafford and the fifth and final Test from 31 July to 4 August will be played at Oval.

Shubman Gill, the captaincy of India going through a change of change, is playing without the team Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who announced his retirement from Test cricket in May. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also said goodbye to his Test career during the Australia tour last year.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami was not selected for the tour due to lack of preparation.
