A fake post about Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and his wife is going viral on social media platform X. The Supreme Court Registry has lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police Cyber Cell on this matter. It has also issued a clarification.
The post is factually incorrect
The Supreme Court Registry clarified that the post circulating on social media is factually incorrect. The wife of Chief Justice of India Justice DY Chandrachud is not related to the personal doctor of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Wrong post circulated before hearing
The Supreme Court Registry in its official statement said that ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on the rape and murder case of woman doctor in Kolkata, a malicious tweet was circulated on X, attempting to link a member of the family of the Chief Justice of India with a medical lobby in Bengal.
Complaint lodged with Delhi Police
The purpose of this social media post is factually incorrect. An attempt has been made to defame the judiciary. A complaint has also been lodged with the Delhi Police in this matter.
