Death due to swallowing chitta.
A man died after swallowing adulterated heroin in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. It is being told that the person had swallowed a packet of Chitta (adulterated heroin) for fear of being caught, who died in Kangra. The police gave this information on Friday. However, the young man’s family has refused to reveal his identity. The young man died at his home on Thursday during treatment.
Stomach burst packet
Police said that a young man was caught by the police in Badsar area on 25 January. 15 grams of chitta was recovered from him, but he swallowed the packet of Chitta by dodging the policemen. When his health deteriorated, he was admitted to the ICU of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur. The doctors took out a packet of intoxication from the young man’s stomach, but the packet was torn. The young man underwent treatment for more than a month.
Many organs affected including kidney
Hamirpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhagat Singh Thakur said that many organs, including the kidneys of the youth, were badly affected due to adulterated drug. The young man’s dialysis was also being done. Despite the efforts of doctors, the young man could not be saved. He said that earlier cases related to drugs were registered against the young man.
Petrol pump owner arrested
Let me tell you that earlier, on Thursday, the Badsar police arrested Ashish Kumar, the owner of the petrol pump in Bani Kaswa, about 38.63 grams of chitta was recovered from the premises. The local court has sent the accused to police custody till April 7. The petrol pump owner used to smuggle Chitta and when the police raided his office, the smuggling item was recovered and he was arrested. Police said that the accused has been involved in the supply of drugs earlier. (Input-PTI)
